I’m Daniela, a BACP Registered Integrative Counsellor & Psychotherapist and the founder of Richmond Counselling (est. 2013)—a calm, confidential space where I’ve supported many people through life’s challenges and sparked meaningful, positive change through therapy and mentoring.

Before establishing my private practice, I completed a BA in Psychology at Richmond University in South-West London and an MSc in Psychoanalytic Developmental Psychology at University College London (UCL) in collaboration with the Anna Freud Centre. My professional development also includes training as a Cognitive Hypnotherapist and as an NLP & Life Coach Practitioner with Trevor Silvester, founder of the Quest Institute and author of Wordweaving. In 2024, I completed an MA in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy at the University of Roehampton—on a programme accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

As someone who moved countries as a young person and has lived the realities of relocation, I have a particular interest in working with expatriates and globally mobile clients. I understand the complex mix of belonging and dislocation, identity shifts, cultural adjustment, and the push-pull of “home.” Whether you’re navigating a new city, a bi-cultural relationship, parenting third-culture kids, or balancing international careers, my integrative approach meets you where you are—helping you make sense of change, reconnect with your values, and feel more grounded within yourself.

Alongside my therapeutic work, I have been involved in a number of academic and creative projects that explore the emotional, relational, and developmental aspects of the human experience. My clinical practice is deeply informed by this research, as well as by my ongoing commitment to professional growth.

I have published a study on Cultural Alienation in the Ageing Person, exploring the emotional impact of displacement, identity, and belonging in later life. I also authored The Potty Training Diary, a reflective and practical guide for parents. During my earlier MA, I conducted research on the role of breastfeeding in shaping emotional bonds between mother and child, and in my most recent MA, I investigated self-care practices among counselling students, focusing on emotional sustainability during training.

I am currently completing a psychoanalytic text examining clinical case studies that explore projection, attachment, and internal conflict. In addition, I’m working on a new book titled The Mirror Within: The Power of Self-Love and Inner Peace, which blends therapeutic insight with personal growth tools to help readers cultivate emotional clarity and self-compassion.

I have also trained in couples counselling, both in the UK and the US, with a focus on Terry Real’s Relational Life Therapy (RLT) model—an approach that supports couples in fostering emotional honesty, mutual accountability, and deeper connection.

I regularly engage in continuing professional development (CPD) through clinical seminars, workshops, and advanced trainings to stay informed and inspired in my practice.
